About myGov outages

myGov is the Australian Government's sign-in for Centrelink, Medicare, the ATO and more. It often slows down around tax time and on payment days.

Tip: If myGov is up but a linked service won't load, the problem is usually with that service (such as Centrelink), not myGov itself.

myGov is up, but it won't work for me. What now?

  1. Refresh hard. Press Ctrl+F5 (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac) to skip your browser's cache.
  2. Try another network. Switch your phone from Wi-Fi to mobile data. If it loads, your home network or internet provider is the issue.
  3. Restart your router. Unplug it for 30 seconds. This clears a lot of connection glitches.
  4. Turn off VPNs and ad blockers for a moment. Some sites block them.
  5. Update or reinstall the app if it's only the app that won't work.
